Break Up
Jimmy is married to Frank, who is abusive, but she is saving up so she may leave. She had been deaf for a year as a result of one of his beatings. He knocks her down the stairway one night, resulting in her hospitalization. The cops want to speak with her when a burnt body in her husband's car is discovered in a pond, but she rushes to her sister's, loses her savings pass-book, and discovers her bank account has been drained. She flees with the same cops after realizing Frank isn't dead. Getting her money back, confronting Frank, appeasing the cops, and regaining her freedom may be too much for her to take. the author
