The Mysterious Play
Miaka is a junior high school student in Tokyo. She has normal problems like fights with her mom, entrance exams, and deciding where she and her friends will go to eat. Then she finds a mysterious book called "The Universe of the Four Gods" in the library. When she and her friend Yui are transported into the book, their lives change forever. As soon as the girls get to this new universe, they are attacked by slavers. Lucky for them, a handsome young man happens to be around. After he saved them from their would-be slavers, both girls are in love with him, but all he really wants is money. When Miaka isn't looking, both Tamahome and Yui go away. Could he have taken her to sell her for money? Miaka has no idea that Yui has been sucked back into the real world. Back in the library, she can only read on as her childhood friend goes to the city to find the mysterious young boy and save her. But what's waiting for Miaka is not what either of the girls expects. Now, the only way for Miaka to get back to her world is to become the Priestess of Suzaku and save their world.
