Max Headroom
Max Headroom is an American satirical science fiction television series produced by Chrysalis Visual Programming and Lakeside Productions for Lorimar-Telepictures and broadcast on ABC between March 1987 and May 1988. The series was based on the British television pilot Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future, which Chrysalis produced for Channel 4. The series is frequently misidentified as an American production due to its locale, almost all American cast, and ABC transmission in the United States. The UK pilot was followed by a six-week run of The Max Headroom Show highlights, a music video program in which Headroom appears between music videos. ABC expressed interest in the pilot and requested that Chrysalis/Lakeside create the series for American audiences. Late in 1986, filming began on the series, which ran for six episodes in the first season and eight in the second.
