Linebarrels of Iron
The manga series Linebarrels of Iron was made by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi. In 2005, the first parts of the series were published in Champion Red, a monthly shnen manga magazine published by Akita Shoten. As of November 20, 2008, it has been put together into eleven tankbon. The main character of the story is Kouichi Hayase, a fourteen-year-old boy who lives a normal life until an accident makes him the pilot of a huge robot called "Linebarrel" and brings him into contact with a mysterious girl. In the February issue of Animage magazine, it was said that the manga series would be made into an anime. The anime is led by Masamitsu Hidaka, and Gonzo is in charge of the animation. Even though the first episode was shown for the first time in the world at the 2008 Anime Expo in Southern California, it was shown for the first time in Japan on October 3, 2008, on the TV network TBS. There were a total of 24 episodes of the anime, and the last one aired on March 20, 2009. In honor of the series being turned into an anime, Shimizu and Shimoguchi decided to make a one-shot manga that retells the entire first episode of the anime, which is very different from the beginning of the manga in many ways.
