Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge

Alan Partridge's Knowing Me, Knowing You was a BBC television series featuring six episodes and a Christmas special in 1995. It was named after ABBA's song "Knowing Me, Knowing You," which served as the show's theme music. Alan Partridge, the inept yet self-satisfied Norwich-based host, was played by Steve Coogan. Alan was a satirical radio character from the show On the Hour. Knowing Me, Knowing You was written by Coogan, Armando Iannucci, and Patrick Marber, with Doon Mackichan, Rebecca Front, and David Schneider, who played Alan's weekly guests, contributing. Steve Brown composed and arranged the music for the show, as well as playing Glen Ponder, the house band's leader. The show was a chat show parody. It had a live audience, whose laughter ensured that the broadcast was not mistaken for a genuine talk show. Alan went on to star in two seasons of the sitcom I'm Alan Partridge, which followed him after his marriage and television career ended.
