Heartland
Heartland was an Australian television drama show that ran in 1994 on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It conducted for ten episodes and starred Cate Blanchett and Ernie Dingo. The show was known as Burned Bridge in a few nations.
Heartland deals with the mystery surrounding the doubts in regards to the guilt of her boyfriend, who's arrested for the murder and the passing of an undercover girl. It is also a love story of the people their relationship that is growing has to endure aggression from the black and white communities and the barriers of the different backgrounds, cultures and attitudes. Place in a small town contrary to the turmoils of mystery, murder and love, Heartland follows both the individuals using also their struggle to restructure their way of life and this seaside community. Their fight to restore their selfesteem towards a future that is positive, regardless of the obstacles in their course.
Plot elements revolve around the personality of Elizabeth Ashton, also a writer arriving in a small community. A level of distress is present towards the novice who's ignorant of any racial tensions. This naivety allows her to befriend Aborigine Vincent Burunga. This mix is the police officer Phil McCarthy who seeks Ashton's affections whilst being hostile to her friendship with Burunga, not simply as a suitor, but because of racial bias.
