The Pickup Game

The pickup industry is scandalous, shrouded in secrecy, and sleazy, to put it mildly. Each year, it generates more than a billion dollars in revenue. An ideology that women are biologically attracted to alpha males is promoted through pricey seminars and training films. This agenda is built on misconceptions and manipulation. Men will become the Casanovas of the 21st century if they are able to discover strategies to overcome their shyness and become socially powerful. To put it another way, at least that's what the brochure says. The self-published book by Ross Jeffries in 1992 titled "How to Get the Women You Desire into Bed" served as an inspiration for a generation of macho men to promote their ideas through aggressive web marketing. This compelling exposé debunks the "date and mate" methods peddled by modern snake-oil salesmen. It was able to do so by gaining access to the movement's founders as well as its present leaders. These self-help-styled seminars are ready to take advantage of anyone who is desperate enough to fall for the deadly promises that they make, and they are ready to do it everywhere from chat rooms to conference halls.
