Spring Eddy

Eddy is on the run, a small-time Chicago crook with a flair for clumsy plots. Eddy takes off for Mexico after robbing his boss, but is distracted along the route by a beautiful hitchhiker. Eddy is beaten up, broken down, and impoverished in Wynot, TX, after what starts out as a simple tryst. After inadvertently seeing Willet Nash, the county's all-powerful Sheriff, murder, Eddy tries to hold up a bank and flee, but his blunder goes horribly wrong, and he's caught in the act by Nash himself. Eddy's sole hope of escaping jail alive is his fiancée Jeannie, whom he abandoned at the altar in Chicago.
