Legiony
A universal narrative of growing up and becoming an adult in challenging circumstances. The great history serves as the backdrop for the love tale unfolding in the foreground: Józek, a deserter from the Tsarist army who joins the forming Legions, Ola, an intelligence operative for the I Brigade and Women's Leage member, and Tadek, her fiancee, a Shooting Team member. Many historical personalities appear in the film, in addition to invented characters whose stories were based on the histories of genuine legionnaires. Brigadier Józef Pilsudski, Lieutenant Stanislaw Kaszubski, pseud. "King," and many others are among them. The film focuses on the Legion's combat trail from 1914 to1916, from the departure from Oleandry to the battle of Kosciuchnowka, and shows the most dramatic cards of the legionary saga, including the renowned uhlan attack at Rokitna, which is one of the film's most magnificent scenes.
