Gripped: Climbing the Killer Pillar

Gripped is a feature-length rock-climbing survival epic set in California's Sierra Nevada mountains on the side of a thousand-foot precipice. Rose, a gym climber from Los Angeles on her first outdoor climb, is the protagonist of Gripped. Rose falls for Bret, an accomplished outdoorsman, while climbing with her buddy Jade. She persuades him to take her up a famous, advanced rock-climbing route known as "Killer Pillar," despite his better judgment. Bret falls and sustains a catastrophic head injury as well as a torn shoulder. Rose must lead the ascent to the summit because there is no other option. They still have a long distance to go when night comes, so they are forced to bivouac on a cliffside ledge. Bret wanders in and out of consciousness the next day as a storm approaches. Rose is the only one who can save them both.
