Forbidden Love: The Unashamed Stories of Lesbian Lives

Ten lesbian women from Canada talk about what it was like to be a lesbian in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. They talk about how they found out about women in love through the pulp fiction of the time, their first relationships, the pain of breaking up, going to gay bars, facing police raids, how men reacted, and the rules of butch and femme roles. In between the interviews and old footage, four chapters from a pulp novel called "Forbidden Love" are acted out.
