Charles, Dead or Alive

On the 100th anniversary of a watchmaking company's founding in Geneva, Charles Dé, the founder's 50-year-old grandson, has had enough: he speaks eccentrically to a reporter, recognizing his grandpa as a craftsman and his son as a businessman, but is evasive about himself. He abandons his family and moves in with a young couple he meets by chance, cooking, reading, drinking, and participating in philosophical debates with them. Charles is adored by the young couple. He communicates with a daughter in secret, and the rest of the family employs a private investigator to track him out, triggering a business takeover that threatens his Bohemian bliss.
