Tired of this noise and madness of nyc and late Eisenhower-era America's conventions, itinerant journalist Paul Kemp journeys to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a regional San Juan newspaper run by the editor Lotterman. Adopting the rum-soaked life style of this overdue'variation of Hemingway's'The Lost Generation', Paul soon becomes entangled with her fiancée a businessman involved in property growth prices that are shady and an extremely attractive woman. It is which Kemp eventually discovers his true voice.
