The King of Staten Island
Since his firefighter father died when he was seven years old, Scott has been a case of stalled growth. He's now in his mid-twenties, with little to show for his efforts, pursuing a dream of becoming a tattoo artist that seems a long way off. Scott is still living with his exhausted ER nurse mother and spends his days smoking pot, hanging around with the guys—Oscar, Igor, and Richie—and covertly hooking up with his childhood pal Kelsey while his younger sister heads off to college. When Scott's mother begins dating a loudmouth firefighter called Ray, a series of events ensues, forcing Scott to confront his loss and take his first tentative steps toward moving forward in life.
