Aliah Rupawala is a 24-year-old Bohri Muslim woman who comes from an extremely strict family. On her first day as a Suicide Prevention Counselor, she finds a 52-year-old man who is preparing to jump from a high-rise terrace. As she attempts to bring him down, she is forced to examine why she became a Suicide Prevention Counsellor in the first place and to reveal a great deal of herself in order to encourage him to open up and share. To be able to do the same for the caller, she confronts and releases her own loneliness and anguish in order to save him. In doing so, she not only heals her own heart, but also the heart of the 15-year-old Suicide Prevention Counsellor who called her.
