Max is really just a veteran of this racket. His latest -- and last -- gig is a hell of a fête, between stuffy period costumes for the traveller, a thwarted, hyper- sensitive singer that believes he is a Gallic James Brown, and a morose, micromanaging groom determined to produce Max's nighttime as miserable as you can. However, what makes the event bitter to endure would be that Joisette, Max's colleague and ostensible girl friend, appears to have written off him, coolly going about her professional duties while flirting with a younger server. It's going to be a very long night... especially once the groom's airborne serenade gets underway.
