The Russian Five

This really is the story of the five Russian baseball celebrities who helped propel the Detroit Red Wings into two Stanley Cup championships and also created one of the most memorable chapters in Motor City sports history. The movie provides the story of this Red Wings' strategy in luring the five Russian players, including Vladimir and Fedorov Konstantinov's under-cover-of-night defections. In addition, it provides new insight to many important moments in Wings' history, including coach Bowman's decision to play all the Russian Five at exactly the exact same time, the bloody rivalry between the Wings and Colorado Avalanche, the 1996-97 Stanley Cup run and the dreadful limousine injury that seriously injured Konstantinov and masseur Sergei Mnatsakanov from the celebration aftermath.
