The Admiral: Roaring Currents

The movie mainly follows the famous 1597 Battle of Myeongryang throughout the Japanese invasion of Korea (1592-1598), at which the iconic Joseon admiral Yi Sun-sin was able to destroy a total of 133 Japanese warships with only 13 ships remaining within his command. The struggle, which happened from the Myeongryang Strait from the coast of the Korean Peninsula, is thought to be one of Yi's most important victories.
