All the Mornings of the World

It's late 17th century. The viola da gamba player Monsieur de Sainte Colombe comes back home to find that his wife died while he was off. In his grief he assembles a small house in his own garden to which, witch he moves to dedicate his life to music along with his two girls Toinette and Madeleine , averting the surface world. Curious about him and his music even reaches the court of Louis XIV, that desires him court in Lully's orchestra, and is equally wide spread, but Monsieur de Sainte Colombe refuses. Marin Marais, a young man, comes to watch him with a request, one day, he would like to be taught how to play the violin.
